Saying Goodbye to The Howard Centre đź’›
We have some sad news to share — The Craft Room will be leaving our home at The Howard Centre.
Over the past year, The Howard Centre has become so much more than just a space for us to run our workshops. It has become a place where people have come together, tried new crafts, made friends, had a cuppa and enjoyed a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our Creative Connections project has welcomed hundreds of people through the doors, with workshops ranging from crochet and card making to diamond art, painting, felting and so much more. We have seen people learn completely new skills, grow in confidence and, perhaps most importantly, enjoy being part of something.
Leaving isn't an easy decision, and we know many of the people who have attended our sessions will be sad to see us go too. But before we close this chapter, we wanted to share some of the lovely messages people have left in our guestbook.
These messages mean an enormous amount to us. They are a reminder that what can sometimes feel like a small craft session can actually make a really meaningful difference to someone's week — whether that's giving someone a reason to get out of the house, somewhere to meet others, a new hobby to enjoy, or simply a friendly face and a cup of tea.
We have had so many lovely memories at The Howard Centre, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has attended our sessions, supported us, volunteered, donated and welcomed us into the centre.

We may be leaving the building, but we certainly aren't leaving the community. We are already looking at what comes next and hope to continue bringing free creative opportunities and community activities to the people who have supported us along the way.
