What started as a simple idea has quickly grown into a lovely little community hub within The Howard Centre. Our Book & Puzzle Swap has become a wonderful success, with local people regularly stopping by to browse, donate, swap, and chat about their latest reads. During the Easter holidays, The Craft Room was delighted to host a free children’s creative event in the main atrium of the Howard Centre, welcoming children aged 8–11 for an afternoon of painting, creativity, and community spirit. The session gave children the opportunity to transform plain plant pots into colourful, unique creations using paints, patterns, and plenty of imagination. We are so excited to share that The Craft Room has officially opened its doors in the Howard Centre, Welwyn Garden City! This is such a big step for us as a charity, and we couldn’t be happier to finally have a space right in the heart of the community. Our new hub is more than just a shop – it’s a welcoming creative space where people of all ages can connect, craft, and feel at home. From our popular holiday camps for children to our adult workshops in crochet, diamond paint
