We were so honoured to have a visit from our local firefighters recently, and what an eye-opening experience it was!

The team came to talk to our children and families about fire safety—sharing invaluable tips on how to stay safe at home and in different environments. But the visit wasn’t just about fire safety; we also learned about the amazing and often dangerous work firefighters do, from rescuing people from car accidents to saving lives in emergencies.

The firefighters really took the time to explain their job in detail, showing us the equipment they use, discussing fire prevention, and even giving the children a chance to ask questions. It was clear from their passionate explanations that their work goes far beyond putting out fires. They’re out there, ready to respond to all sorts of emergencies, no matter how big or small, every single day.

Just as we were finishing up, something truly profound happened—the firefighters had to rush off as they received an emergency call. We watched in awe as they quickly hopped back into their fire engine and “blue-lighted” away, heading straight to the scene of an emergency. It was a powerful reminder of the risks they take daily to protect our community. They put their lives on the line for us, and that’s something we can’t take for granted.

We want to give a huge thank you to our local firefighters for their visit and for all the important work they do. Their bravery and dedication to keeping us safe are truly inspiring. We’re so grateful for their time, the lessons they shared, and for reminding us of how crucial their role is in our community.

Stay safe, and remember to always appreciate the heroes among us! 💛🚒
