This February half term, The Craft Room brought a little colour and creativity to the Howard Centre with our free Bug Hotel Painting event for local children and families. Held in the main atrium under the clock, the session welcomed children aged 8 and over to paint and decorate their very own wooden bug hotels to take home.
The event was designed to encourage children to get creative while also creating a little home for wildlife. From bright rainbow patterns to nature-inspired designs, every bug hotel created during the session was completely unique and full of personality.
Parents stayed alongside their children throughout the activity, helping create a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere in the centre. It was lovely to see families spending quality time together, chatting, laughing, and getting creative side by side.
As with all of our community events, the session was completely free to attend, helping ensure local families could access fun and engaging activities during the school holidays without financial pressure.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the event. Seeing the children proudly carrying their colourful bug hotels home at the end of the day was a lovely reminder of how creativity can bring people together while encouraging learning and wellbeing at the same time.
We look forward to hosting even more
family craft events at the Howard Centre throughout the year 💚🐞
